Fluke 6.5 digit calibrator intended to be used by inexperienced operators

With demand for calibration growing every year, Fluke 5560A [right] defines a new class of multi-product calibrator by catering for new and inexperienced workers joining the calibration business without much training,” according to the company. “Key features include a large [7inch] display with intuitive touchscreen and an optional accessory for efficient DMM calibration with minimal or no lead changes.” It is “also protected against expensive damage caused by incoming voltages or overload conditions.

The new calibrators are:

  • 5560A, which can calibrate 6.5 digit DMMs with better than 4:1 test uncertainty ratio
  • 5550A which can calibrate 5.5 digit DMMs
  • 5540A (below) which can calibrate 4.5 digit DMMs

All can deliver 30 A continuously for calibrating clamp meters up to 1.5kA, and can be combined with, for example, three 52120A amplifiers to deliver a total of 360A for calibrating high-current Rogowski coils.

Communication are via GPIB (IEEE-488), RS-232, USB 2.0 (TMC) or Ethernet (Telnet).

All come with an accredited 17025 calibration certificate traceable to international standards.

The instruments are bench-top, measuring 432 x 47.3 x 178mm high (“standard rack width and rack increment,” Fluke), plus 15mm for feet, and weighing 22kg without options.
